Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering Holdings Bhd

I failed to be selected as one of the investors for MHB during IPO. Many of my friends failed as well. How about you? If you are the lucky one, congratulates to you. I believe invest in MHB IPO just like buying Amanah Saham. It's hard and require a lot of chances and luck, especially for non-bumiputra. Of course, selected investor would be consider entering at a safe entry point, just like Maxis IPO.

Should Investors Exit Malaysia Glove Makers?

Malaysian rubber glove makers are getting used to a slower life after years of scorching growth as demand drops, latex prices soar and the dollar weakens. World’s No.1 glove exporter Top Glove recently said it expects to grow at a meagre 10 per cent in 2011, a far cry from the 50 per cent growth rate it has seen in the last two years.

Shares of Top Glove and its Malaysian peers such as Supermax Corp and Kossan Rubber, have dropped more than 20 per cent since touching all-time highs in July. Same question, will a rising ringgit and high latex prices continue to depress the stocks, or are the low prices a good entry point into the sector?

What's Wrong With PNB 100-Storey Skyscrapper?

The apparently growing opposition to plans by Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB) to build a 100-storey skyscraper as part of the Warisan Merdeka integrated project is a classic example of what can go wrong when information is either badly presented or poorly received.

Prime Minister and Finance Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, when announcing the project in his 2011 Budget speech on October 15, said the landmark, which will be developed by PNB, is to be completed by 2020.

Mudajaya Group Bhd

Are you looking into or still holding any Mudajaya Group Bhd shares?

Last 2 weeks ago, Mudajaya has received a letter from SC and that came to an end to SC query as well as the poison letter. Nonetheless, even though all research analysts are positive with this company future earnings and outlook, it seems that the share price is dropping everyday right after the 'end' news. We also can see Mulpha is borrowing this opportunity to absorb more Mudajaya shares at average lower price. So what does it indicates?

JCY International Bhd

I was looking at JCY on last weekend and on yesterday, it has formed a nice Ghost Town pattern and drew more of my attention onto it. The hard disk drive manufacturer price has plunged more than 50% few months, and also thanks to the lately delayed market response to labor protests in mid of August.

By looking at JCY fundamentals, it is a solid technology stock with good figures, including healthy track records, high ROE of 20%+ and positive future earnings. Compare to Notion (another technology stock dropping like shit), it is a better pick and the current price is also very attractive to buy.

Big Is Beautiful? Think Again

The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) is one of Malaysia's success stories. The pension fund was the world's seventh biggest state pension fund in 2006, according to a Watson Wyatt study. Today, it manages more than RM300 billion of assets. In 1985, this was only RM26 billion. As always, millions of its members look forward to a good dividend payment and when you are close to retirement, a bigger number would obviously make your day.

But being big is not all that it's cracked up to be. For starters, you need to make more to pay dividends when assets are big. For example, if you manage RM100, a 5 per cent dividend is RM5 but if you take care of RM1000, 5 per cent is RM50. You need to make 10 times more in investment income to pay the same level of dividend as the guy that has a smaller fund.

Rubber Glove Makers Revived

Let's just face the reality. After so many bloggers and other analysts boast about the attractive price of rubber glove makers recently, they just won't be as influence and effective than CIMB Research house and Terence Wong promoting about it.

Rubber glove markers finally advanced altogether right after CIMB Research house maintained the rating for this sector despite influence by the negative impacts in this afternoon. Terence mentioned that the gloves demand will still continue to grow at a healthy clip for the time being. In addition, he also stated rubber glove makers from Malaysia would maintain its leadership in the global market.
