AIRASIA BERHAD

AirAsia Bhd has fallen to the support price of RM2.20 for the 3rd time on Friday. Is it a good time to collect?

By looking at the technical analysis, it looks like a good time to buy by touching the strong support price level.

On the other hand by looking at the fundamental point of view, I'm fully supporting Air Asia even it's recent numbers are dropping significantly. But people still travel, and the number of people will also increasing as AirAsia makes the travel so affordable just like taking a cab or train right now.

Furthermore, it has mature business within the South East Asia including Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Philippine. The short fall of Thailand is just temporary. Once the politics are stable, the revenue will be back afterwards. Not only that, it will operate the business in India soon, which is the second largest population in the world!

Look at the con end, the pressure from the local Government, airport operator and local competitors are really annoying, which is really an disadvantage to AirAsia. AirAsia is making a lot of money and contributing tax to the Government. Just because of they have a similar business and managing very poorly, while the airport operator is not doing a good job and try to protect them, the relationship turns sour. If this continues, it will hurts AirAsia badly.

Overall, I still like AirAsia for it's
1) Aggressive management way of doing business
2) Stick to it's vision - low price leader, and definitely indirectly created a barrier moat for others to compete
3) Business expansion to India
4) Worst situation has over and anticipating a brighter outlook in the future

Your statement "Look at the con end, the pressure from the local Government, airport operator and local competitors are really annoying, which is really an disadvantage to AirAsia.".....sound like you are hearing one side of the story. Look at the turn around by AirAsia when they get ICAO to come and check if the airport is safe to use.

The airport is safe for operation as per inspection.

There is a clause from Chinese, 识时务者为俊杰。 End up Air Asia still has to move.
