Can JTIASA Makes It Back?

JTIASA announced an improved latest Q1FY18 quarterly result end of last month, at $255.7m revenue and $42.3m PBT which has improvement of 4% revenue and 44% PBT over the same quarter last year.

The slight increasing in revenue due higher CPO and PK sales volume of 26% and 31% respectively. Profit margin has significantly increased due to better OER, CPO selling price and mills capacity utilization rate, as well as lower OPEX.

Nonetheless, with the improvement of Q1FY18, the share price is gradually diving few cents for the past 1 month. Why is that?

4th Quarter 2013 Results Review

An extremely busy week for my work and compliment with the release of 4th quarter results, I was almost exhausted. Fortunately, I'm still able to blog about it. :)

Since there are so many companies involved, I will just highlight a couple of counters that I'm invested in and posted here earlier.

JAYA TIASA HOLDINGS BERHAD

Many people are paying attention to JTIASA recently, thanks to a person.

A successful stock market investor and businessman, Mr. Koon Yew Yin has publicly promoted JTIASA in his blog for this counter's potential of making a lot of money from it's palm oil and timber businesses in the coming 10 years.

Mr. Koon and his family have already bought in more than 40 million JTIASA's shares up to now, approximately 4.2% of the total shares. The market predicts his entry price is between RM1.80 to RM2.30. Thus, he has invested more than RM82M in total.

2013 Investment Portfolio Review

My investment result is stumbled in year 2013.

KLSE went up 10.5% for the entire year 2013, and a lot of the counters have grew a lot more than that. However, I only managed to get 3% net return of my total stock investment in overall, including dividends.

From the look at it, fixed deposit and mutual fund return is a lot better than my investment portfolio for 2013. What a shame!

I did a review this morning and I concluded that not because I did not pay sufficient attention to the market, it's because I did not do sufficient homework.

Japan Reconstruction Theme

People used to say, a crisis will always brings opportunity.

This is very true, especially in stock market. Many investors do think that certain stocks would benefit from the reconstruction of the buildings damaged in Japan's earth quake more than 2 weeks ago.

Since Malaysia is rich with natural resources, what can our local company can contribute for the buildings reconstruction?
